How One Good Piece of Content could Change your Business

You’ve got something to sell, and there’s always someone looking to buy. All you gotta do is write a tweet here and there showcasing your amazing product and BAM, you’re in high demand, right?
Do you ever look at other businesses and envy the way their products seem to be selling like hot cakes (even those that aren’t selling actual hot cakes)? If you take a look at their content, you’ll find a lot more than the average ‘buy now’ CTA and persistent product pushing.
Content Marketing (please, withhold all groaning) is something we tell people to do over and over again, but there is a reason we just can’t stop going on about its necessity and value...

Trust us, your audience doesn’t want to hear you bang on and on about your ‘amazing product’ (sorry, but it’s true). It’s important to create content that is going to be relevant, interesting and helpful for your audience; firstly to get their attention, but also to build up a little trust before you go for the sale. It’s also great for establishing a loyal customer base in the long-term.
Research is vital when creating your content. How do you expect to capture your market’s attention when you don’t know what they like? Seems obvious, but you’d be surprised how many brands don’t bother. Do your research and get to know your audience first, then maybe they’ll want to get to know you.
It’s becoming more and more common for people to favour mobile devices over desktop, so it only makes sense to tailor your content for mobile viewing. We suggest using larger fonts, eye-catching headlines, and lots of images and videos. They won’t be able to look away from their hand-held screens.
Leading on from this, make sure your content is also able to easily adapt to a variety of devices with responsive design. Nobody wants to be resizing and scrolling around the page to read a simple blog post, and many won’t bother trying.
In this day and age, a good video is always a winner. Don’t settle for only blogs and whitepapers, get some great video content a-flowing. Statistics indicate that 4x as many consumers prefer to learn about a product through video than read about it.
So you’ve mastered the content side of things? Fabulous, we’ll allow you to let out a celebratory ‘wahoo’. But remember, it all means nothing if nobody reads it. Share it over all the social channels you can, and then guess what? Share it AGAIN.
